Ann Zeisset, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P - YES HIM Consulting Educator

Ann Zeisset YES EducatorAnn Zeisset, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, is an independent consultant on ICD-10-CM/PCS. In her role she develops, supports and delivers training on ICD-10. Currently Ms. Zeisset is a contract Educator consultant at YES-HIM Consulting in Largo, FL She also serves as content developer for AHIMA. Ms. Zeisset is an AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer.

Prior to this, she served twelve years as Manager of Professional Practice Resources for AHIMA. In that role, Ms. Zeisset provided professional expertise to AHIMA members, the media, and outside organizations on coding practice issues. She has authored and served as technical advisor for AHIMA online coding education, publications and articles on ICD-9-CM, CPT, and ICD-10-CM/PCS topics. She has authored or co-authored eleven books and over thirty-five published articles.

Prior to joining AHIMA, Ms. Zeisset served as director of Health Information/Utilization Management. Before that, Ms. Zeisset served in various coding roles, and has been an educator of coding and HIM for more than 25 years at multiple colleges including as adjunct faculty in the Health Information Management Program at the University of Cincinnati. Ms Zeisset has over 35 years’ experience in HIM and coding, and is a nationally-recognized ICD-10-CM/PCS speaker, author, and educator. Ms. Zeisset completed a one-year contract between the Foundation for Research and Education and CMS to determine potential impacts to CMS when converting from ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems. Ms Zeisset also testified for AHIMA before the National Center for Vital and Health Statistics on readiness for ICD-10. Ms. Zeisset is a frequent author and speaker on CPT and ICD-10-CM/PCS and served as author and faculty for the AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Academies to train trainers.

Teri Jorwic, MPH, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, FAHIMA - YES HIM Consulting Educator

Teri J. YEs EducatorTherese (Teri) Jorwic, MPH, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, FAHIMA, is a nationally-recognized expert in classification and coding systems.  She has served as an author and presenter for online and face-to-face seminars and courses in ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT coding and is an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer. She is a Contract Educator for YES HIM Consulting in Largo, Florida and served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Health Information Management at the University of Illinois at Chicago, specializing in coding and reimbursement course development and education.

Ms. Jorwic serves as a consultant and trainer and has presented numerous workshops and developed educational material for in-class and online courses for ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT coding as well as reimbursement systems for hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers and associations. She was one of the original External Faculty members for the AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Academies, 2009-2015. Previous to joining the University Ms. Jorwic served in management roles at Chicago-area hospitals and as the Assistant Director of Continuing Education at AHIMA. She is the past president and recipient of the distinguished member award for both the Chicago Area and Illinois Health Information Management Associations. Ms. Jorwic has served AHIMA as Chairman of the Practice Council on Clinical Terminology and Classification and Council on Coding and Classification. She was the first chairman of the AHIMA Society for Clinical Coding and is a recipient of the AHIMA’s Pioneer and Literary Awards. Ms. Jorwic received the Amoco Silver Circle, Excalibur, and Educator of the Year awards for teaching excellence at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Ms. Jorwic is the author of several articles and publications.  She is the co-author with Lynn Kuehn of the AHIMA text, ICD-10-PCS:  An Applied Approach which received the AHIMA Literary Legacy Award in 2014. She has authored publications for AHIMA and other publishers, including McGraw Hill’s ICD-9-CM for Physician Practices text. Ms. Jorwic holds an MPH with a concentration in health services and administration and received her BS in medical record administration. She is a certified coding specialist and a certified coding specialist–physician based, and is a Fellow of AHIMA.
